Self-Portrait (In Collaboration) 2024

After giving birth I found unfamiliarity in my reflection in the mirror. The person I saw there was a new creature. Working on this self-portrait, I reflected on the new person I was. My identity as an artist could not be separate from my role as a mother. The presence of my son’s marks on the bottom of this painting reflects the expansion of my sense of self to include him.
